Giving more power to the Lokayukta has been foiled by corrupt IAS officers
What is worse is the fact that these corrupt officers during the President's Rule got the only high level Committee on Anti-Corruption abolished hat too on the ground that the Lokayukta would be given more power in future.The abolition of the Committee was kept secret for nearly two years that too when scam after scam were being reported in he media
Today the situation is so bad that the Lokayukta has recently told the media (Second week of February 2010) that if he is given suo moto power Vidhana Soudha and Vikasa soudha would be empty within 24 hours!!!
On the same day Former Supreme Court Chief Justice Sri M.N.Venkatachaliah told the media that all departments are run by the mafia in Karnataka!!!
Many information received under the RTI Act show that the corrupt IAS officers have managed to make files relating to their corruption not traceable.
